Biography

Imperfect Flowers is a music project by Marcello De Chirico (15 October 1983, Genoa, Italy)

He discovered his passion for music during his teen years.

After listening to a great dark-wave album,

Marcello realized that was the kind of music he was looking for.

The album was “Disintegration” by “The Cure”.

Shortly after the end of school, together with best friend Enrico "Shawn Simmons" Cerrelli, he started his most important dark music project - which then became "Imperfect Flowers" at the end of 2007.

This project is expression of a long introspective journey; its music is a representation of Marcello's memories and dreams

“Imperfect Flowers” is, in other words, an autobiographical project.

Many artists such as HIM, Clan Of Xymox, Cradle Of Filth, Xasthur, Dead Can Dance and Diary Of Dreams contributed to form Marcello's musical background, in addition to some well known names like The Cure, Joy Division, Sisters Of Mercy and Christian Death.

In 2009 Marcello decided to suspend "Imperfect Flowers" in order to work on a new project, “Universum Omega” - a more industrial oriented project.

However, in 2015, the intention to publish his unedited pieces, gave him new motivation to resume his very first work.

The reborn of “Imperfect Flowers” has been influenced by bands like Black Tape For A Blue Girl, Lycia and Bohren Und Der Club Of Gore.
